Not sure about the NEC but in Canada (Ontario specifically) we are able to place Line voltage and Low Voltage within the same box/enclosure providing one is to control the other (similar to the NEC code Brad had quoted with exception 2). There is no physical way to separate the Line and low voltage on some specific devices thus the reason for the exception (replays are the most common device for this exception).
