Technically, would a 'selector' be defined as "the person making a choice"?

This sentence is not a comment. It just illustrates what I say following the rest of this quote:

You want correct names from people who can't stop using an apostrophe for a plural, using the wrong version of they're/their/there and your/you're? Yeah, that'll happen.

In your case, I'm waiting for the day when you will answer a post without quoting the entire friggin' thing. I've seen you be the first one to answer a six paragraph post and for some reason you feel we won't know what you're referring to if you don't copy it all.

Hint: you can reply without quoting. Quoting is really great if you want to make particular comments on particular parts of the quote. To see how, hit "Quote" on this post and see how such a response is constructed.

You prefer "square to the World"?

Now THIS is an example of quoting an entire post with good reason. The quotation pins down what you're referring to and you quote all that's needed. I suppose if this were a thirty line post you would have quoted the entire thing, but you show that a short quote can be quite helpful.

As to "square to the world," that's funny. I remember from math classes that a line at 90 degrees to a reference line is said to be "normal to the line."* Wow, would THAT bring about a lot of confusion! I do love, though, when someone means plumb, says level, and I say plumb, and their face goes through contortions trying to figure out what the hell I just said.

And in the previous post (highfigh, notice that I did not need to quote it in its entirety; I just used the word "previous.), TSS completely makes my point.

As for the questions about women: I'm asking technical people a technical question about a technical subject. One response not only dumps on the ability of women to talk about or understand technical issues, but in the same sentence implies that everyone I've addressed here is a woman, because, I guess obviously, you all just can't follow what I'm talking about.

On the other hand, this is Post 14; nobody has been able to address the question itself, instead going off on a tangent. Maybe we all are women in the pejorative way that has been suggested.

*Would that make a plumb bob into a normal bob?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
