How are you pointing to your NAS?
Is it a network path or did you map a network drive?
Some software (and I don't know yours specifically) can't handle "\\xx\" or the 192 scheme and are looking for actual drive letters.

Thank you, this is where I really don't know what I'm doing.
I connected the new HD, went through basic config, named the Drive SynologyRS815 and created a public share called public. Next I went to Computers, Map Network Drive, and entered //SynologyRS815/public. Last I pointed to //SynologyRS815/public in Secure Guard.
