Had an appt. with a Bright House contractor yesterday. Remodeled building getting service and I wanted to have a site survey prior to installation, to make sure that there was nothing that my crew needed to do.
Contractor showed up (on time) and introduced himself (so far good), I took him to the equipment room and showed him our prewire and told him this is where I want the headend (still doing good). He goes outside, wanders around the parking lot and finally spots the CATV pedestal by the building to the east.
He tells me that they will need to do a parking lot bore (now I am a bit concerned). I look down the side of our building and see coax coming out of the wall (?). Hmm I think to myself....taking a walk around the building I find a newish tap with RG11 coming up from a pipe in the ground and 2 RG/6 cables going into the building. Ran a signal test, because in his opinion that cable can not be connected.
Boom 325 down and 50 up.
Everything that we needed was right there and ready to go (and he had not even walked around the building).
