Just wondering, does FaceTime work while using AirPlay to an AppleTV?

I've never tried nor had a reason to but it would be cool if it worked.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I just extended my Mac's desktop to the AppleTV and was able to open FaceTime on it. But since my tv is a 90º right turn from my Mac. The person who I am having a video chat will will be seeing the left side of my face. As the camera is still on the Mac.

The easy fix for this, is to have a camera mounted on the TV and USB to the Mac. But that's an additional cable that the client has to worry about.
