When you assigned the command to a button was it a button on a device or on an activity? The command will work only on the one you assigned it to. Usually it's assigned to the device and it works there, so when that's the active device for an activity we expect it to also work in that activity. But it doesn't. You have to also assign it to that or another button within that activity. Weird.
