Put a multimeter on the power supply for the dock, and make sure the voltage is correct. If not, replace with a 'same spec' power supply. If yes, then replace the battery with one of the 'made for' batteries available for that remote online. If that doesn't fix it, replace remote with whatever is current in today's market.
Not many variations you can do to the above troubleshooting and fixing.
