I am looking at the Mikrotek 750GL and the Cisco RV180, I do listen to advice. The 750GL looks like a bitch to setup where the RV180 seems a lot easier. Does any one know if the RV180will allow DHCP reservations by MAC address? Will the 750GL?
Any comments on relative throughput?
I do not need VPN or a DMZ, although the DMZ might be useful in the future.
There are no VLANS, the network being flat with just switches to distribute through the home. Wireless is done through WAPS strategically located in the house.
If any one has experience with a Vonage VDV23 telephone adapter; do you advise putting it between the cable modem and the router or just off a router port. I believe it can work either way. Putting it between the modem and the router allows the router to be rebooted with out affecting the telephones.
Any advice appreciated
