I can easily understand someone wanting more configuration options from an AirPort Express/Extreme, but to call them garbage is pretty ridiculous. The requirement was small and it would be pretty challenging if not impossible to find a smaller router including PSU that matches the specs of the AirPort Express.

I was using Airport Extremes for a while and eventually found that URC wifi remotes didn't want to connect to them, Yamaha receivers would drop offline with them and a slew of other oddball issues. I replaced them with a couple different routers at a few jobs and the issues have disappeared. I still have one at my house which works perfectly fine but all I have at my house is a laptop and a Sonos unit, I don't think the Airports are up to the task with the equipment we are installing on a daily basis. Now to decide which one to make my go to small home/small project router.
