thats what i came up with but i was hoping there is a easier way to "forget" a light.

I was also wondering if i could create a schedule so between thanksgiving and new years use "christmas light scene" between newyears and thanksgiving use "normal scene" but then IF its between the hours of 11pm-sunset use "normal scene"

So under advanced lighting i would just create a christmas scene without the outlet circuit.

I think this would work but its complicated and would take some doing and is just as "ugly" as your variable :)
