I have collected all the extra hardware from TV mounts for years. The job I'm on now, out of the US, is in a place where an actual hardware store with a full range of ANY nut or bolt or screw just doesn't exist. But hey, it's all metric here and I had fifteen pounds of metric stuff! All I had to do was get a hundred nuts for each of several sizes; get some English size washers that would work, and I was set better than the big hardware store chain in town.

It is VERY expensive of time, and some of money, to get a reasonable quantity of hardware in black, so I'm grateful to the TV mount manufacturers for going hog-wild with enough hardware for the last decade. That even worked for you -- the screw heads on the front would have looked cheesy in cad plate!
