I was all ready to go "tap it out if you can't figure it out," and 1/4-28 would be a reasonable choice, even though it would be wrong, wrong, wrong to do it. I recently had a similar quest and I found a couple of places that would make the custom tap I'd need, but it would be around $60!

WAY better to find out what the hell they had in mind! If ksellers hadn't jumped in, it would have made sense to try every piece of hardware in the accessory kit, or, hell, CALL THE MANUFACTURER!
