This thread makes me wonder about a few things in light of the comment in the original post about the AVR being hundreds of feet from the speakers-
How far are receivers located from speakers?
If more than 100', what's being done about signal losses in the speaker cabling?
If the speakers are far from the AVR, is the signal being degraded by the distance? If so, is it noticeable, or not enough to worry about?
@tca- based on your comment about all equipment being placed in one area, does this mean you are using nothing that uses software that needs to be loaded e.g., CD/DVD/BD and all media is streamed over the internet or from a NAS/USB device or uses Cable/Sat/U-Verse for TV programming?
