I am also going to look into the QNAP hs251. It is a 2 bay NAS with built in media player. Fanless, HDMI, support for 4k maybe. I am looking into it as an option for control4 systems add they are a certified partner with tight integration.

Synology is great and has some cool features. I have one but not one that supports native plex server. And the Roku is easy to use. A client had the FireTV set up with Plex and I think the interface was much better than the Roku plex channel.
