So, I was introduced to JAP in a real world setting. The temp install involved a DTV HR44 and a (admittedly very discriminating 8000 series) Samsung plasma. We actually had 2 DTV receivers ran to the TV. One, via the JAP stuff through a gig switch to the TV. And the second, a 50ft hard HDMI right out of the DTV receiver to the TV. Both receivers were turned to MNF and the difference was quite apparent.

The JAP system made the live MNF broadcast look like film. It reminded me of, but not quite exactly, the "soap opera effect" of the LED sets. Switching between the 2, there was what I would call an obvious difference, even to the untrained eye.

The JAP DTV IRD was set to 720P as per their recommendations.

What say you JAP installers? From what I saw, commercial installs would go unnoticed as to PQ. Has anyone installed this in a home and were asked about "the effect" native to this technology?
