Exactly.... This goes for any if then statements for events. Make the event trigger based on what the status change then the macro that runs from it do the system variable test so for example:

Event when front door opens run macro

If partition 1 armed turn off light.

Now the event only turns the light on if the alarms on and the front door opens. You could even then put a time test in this to have that even only occur at night
