Hi all,

Just to share my experience, I have been successful with RS232 control of a UE55HU7500LXXC, euro model, apparently the same model as the US UN55HU8550 version.

Notes:

1. TTL does not work. This is pure RS232. I tried with a B&B 232LPTTL33 and it doesn't work;

2. I am using a Philips Pronto RFX9600 extender and it works fine with 9600, 8, N, 1 settings;

3. For some reason, I coudn't make it work with any terminal software I tried (TeraTerm, HypeTerm) and even Eventghost. None worked;

4. No changes in the Service Menu are required, it works straight from the box. You may actually disable RS232 control if you do some of the things that you find in the net, such as activating Debug. Keep it in the default UART mode;

5. When you send the power on command, you must add a CR (thanks to Daniel at the Loxone forum for this). This looks like this: 08 22 00 00 00 02 D4 0D. The "0D" is CR in hex. Don't add any more 0D to any other string, just power it up with this string and then use the standard strings for all other commands.

6. Daniel at the Loxone forum reported success with his UE55HU8580. The corresponding US model is either the UN55HU8700 or UN55HU9000.
