When you look at the Denon X-Series, one realizes this is the point in time where Denon truly stopped caring about its custom integrator end users.

The easiest way to identify if the manufacture simple just threw up their arms and gave up is to see how many times in the discrete code forum someone is asking for the same codes. The x-series comes up ALL OF THE TIME. (So does the LE643 series of Sharp TVs).

The really unfortunate part is that Denon marketed this receiver near the $1000 and sub-$1k range, plastered it all over the internet (amazon, crutchfield, and others). This means its "affordability" into the custom (or near-custom) markets means many of us will run into this receiver that Denon treated like Apple did their first generation AppleTVs.

In case you needed further evidence, look at this protocol sheet straight from Denon. It lists codes in the Denon-S and Denon-K categories. I am not quite sure how this can work. This not only makes this protocol sheet a convoluted mess, but practically useless in real world applications. (I am confident there is someone out there much smarter than me in IRP and who has steady access to an x-series receiver and can make heads or tails of this sheet:

Granted: this is a really long introduction. And because I value the members posting in this thread and value a strong sense of community, I give you:

This receiver line is an absolute mess. I hope it gets better. The 2014 upgrade has been lackluster in terms of remotes codes.
