That's correct. I guess I forgot to mention that detail. You need a router to assign it a dhcp address, then you can program a static IP and move it to a stand alone switch. Sorry if I confused anyone by leaving that part out.I have been using mfs8 switches for our recent installs, so I forgot about the need for a dhcp server.
