Sorry Duct, don't mean to jump in here, but if you want to use any of the DMS amps separate from the existing network you can:
1- Use a MFS switch from URC if it is connected to the existing network
or
2- set it up with a stand alone router (not a separate switch)

The DMS needs an IP address to work/program.
I found this out the hard way when trying to do this for the first time a couple of years ago. Customer had an old D-Link router not being used. Set up the system with the D-Link (No WAN connection needed).
