It only matters because it interrupts my programming work. It takes time and attention -- little bits that add up during the day -- away from the task at hand.

Software (Mobile setup) that has no reason to come up in front of my work every time I do a normal part (connecting the remote) of using other software (CCP), especially if it's something I can't even use because the remote is not a phone able to sync, is massively stoooopid and clearly implies someone doesn't know what they're doing.

I know, I should only work in homes where I can set up my computer where I can program and try it out without moving. Not gonna happen.

I once was on another forum asking tons and tons of questions and I finally got two responses: (1) Go to training (2) Read a book about it.

It's really quite simple. Your devices like the MX900, 880, ZR-2, etc are USB HID devices. Without getting into the detail of it (Google or read a book), this is essentially the driver class they call so that your software knows how to interact with your hardware. (This is pretty basic stuff, as I assume you understand drivers and S/W:H/W interaction to some degree.

The MX3000 and the MX980 are NOT HID devices. They are using a different driver to interact with the OS. This is where WMDC comes in. That's why it pops up. Go ahead and close that window and try downloading. I am sure you will post about how it failed.

In the mean time, you can probably write some script or dig into your Windows setup to stop that Window from popping up on top. Mine doesn't. I actually like having the sound. It lets me know the device has connected and been recognized by my OS.

You don't have to do anything with WMDC. I can't believe that you waste people's time with these silly questions, but somehow claim that a quick beep from your OS when your remote connects "takes time and attention." Ignore the window, recognize the beep, press download. Curious: how do you do in a non-sterile environment where you have to work and program?

Finally: Have you been to URC training? Have you signed onto the Control Room? I read how you felt like you got ostracized there, but I have to be honest, you ask questions like someone who is not an authorized dealer. You are honestly asking the caliber of questions like someone who got a hold of the software and are trying to push their way through it.

What is your screen name on the Control Room Ernie?
