I'm getting rid of my Bell dish very soon. Have new antenna up and running and getting about 22 channels but some of the Buffalo channels (ABC, PBS, FOX, and CBS) are low signal.

I have a Dish Power Inserter which I tried on the line and it seemed to increase signal strength. My question is will putting 12V on the line burn out the baluns on the antennas? I don't have a pre-amp installed, but figured if this works to increase signal, and won't hurt the antenna then I won't really need a pre-amp.

I also have an Archer 10db amplifier that I tried but it seemed to decrease the signal strength (it's probably amplifying noise on the line):
