Often, no. Occasionally, yes. Some off brand stuff usually. Back in the day, there were no discrete commands in the codesets tied to model numbers, so you had to use Panasonic 13 (don't remember what codeset it is). Now, the database is more complete than it used to be so I don't use it as much. The newest codesets are often found at the bottom of the model list though, so sometimes it pays to look.
