When the World Cup was in the US back in the 90's attendance was strong. I also lived in No. Mexico remember. The Rose bowl had no problem filling up with Mexico played the US, or any other South American team.
That's the World Cup it's a special event and doesn't count. Kind of like how people will pack in to watch Olympic gymnastics. But outside of the Olympics, no one wants to watch gymnastics
