If you put macro on the device key, put a pause or two at the beginning to make it a push & hold macro, so it won't fire each time you just want to enter a device.

And to put a macro on the device key, after entering program mode, and picking macro, press the page key until top of screen changes from macro to main, than pick the device key you wish to program.
