Jon, I only had to cut a bit of the bezel where they added some compenents. The L1 cap was not a problem for Me and I did not have to cut into the battery comartment (but I had the silver pronto and I don't know if the internal plastic is different from the black/grey Pronto).

I am very happy with the new screen. The contrast is good and does not dift at all. I set the contrast once and never had to touch it since. I cannot comment on brightness since I been Prontoless for a while, but I am very happy with the brightness of the screen.
