Why exactly would a robot who looked 60 have to act 60? The moment he bends a gun in half, throws a car through a wall, or stands in place and bends a big rig around him... I don't think you'll be thinking he's some frail guy who's going to slow you down. But to everyone else, you're harmless and blend in.

You missed my point. Obviously he was a strongly built robot (in the film), but obviously if the resistance knew that they would not take him back to base unless he was incapacitated so all the stuff you said was worthless. You have to start with the assumption that other robots are coming after you and you want to escape from them (or possibly you see him scurrying around foraging) and so you think he will be a good addition to the team.
n that scenario a strong young guy might be accepted more easily because he can carry more every time you move base....
