When we are able, we dead end the power into the rack/cabinet with a "inlet" and plug it into a UPS.
On retrofits where it is not feasible, we do not worry about it. One day, they will all be LED lit and we will not have to worry about it. :)
Yeah, just another one of the things we want that the electricians don't understand. This is what I asked for, but they weren't too geeked about moving the screen's outlet to the other side, so I decided to avoid being tossed out the 2nd Floor window just for asking.
The HVAC guy was whiny enough when he heard the main branch needed to be raised because it was laying right over where the projector was going to live. I asked if they could remove the insulation wrap, loosen the screws for the fittings, shift it up add blocking and re-fasten the fittings- he just got mad and said he needed an offset. When the offset showed up and he asked where I needed the extra height, he started whining about "Great! More waste!". The other guy, who doesn't seem to let much bother him, suggested the same thing I did and I think it took a total of 15 minutes for the whole thing to be finished and re-covered.
