It doesn't really matter how I got it, I've been a Denon rep/dealer/distributor for over 16 years.

The exact procedure requires that the unit power up and NO DISC reads on the florescent display. Press Play and Skip Forward simultaneously. "Initializing" shows on the display. "Initialized" and then "No Disc" will display when it's done.

Look at it this way: The unit is already bricked. Trying the init procedure for post mcom or PCB replacement won't hurt it.
