Welfare rancher stands up to government = hero.
Single mom applies for welfare = mooch.

FOX News Math Lesson #3,614.

That is what I've been thinking all along. We're supposed to be OK with a rancher mooching off federal lands for his own benefit...and I am actually fine with that, as there is a long history of people using federal lands (especially in the west) for their own commerce and gain. But the same people that applaud this guy, are the same ones that want to grill a welfare recipient, regardless of whether they need it or not.

I'm personally appalled at some of the welfare abuse (a pimple on the ass in $ compared to corporate abuse), but the faction of the political constituency that gets their pitch forks sharpened when discussing social assistance (in whatever form it manifests) are the same folks who wave the banner for the rancher in Nevada, and completely disregard the rampant corporate welfare in this country. When I hear those myopic arguments, they neither hold water for me but also smack of letting someone else do their thinking for them (Fox News ad infinitum)

Those complainants really come across as disingenuous (if not hypocritical) to me. We all need to start thinking for ourselves and quit letting the left or right wing news (ratings) regurgitating machines think for us.

I also am concerned about overreach by the government...but I am much more concerned about this nation being unable to shake the shackles of Oligarchy. There are bigger problems in this country (and world) and these minor issues are just a smoke screen to the pocket picking that is really going on. Hi-FiGuy, you have fallen for their ploy. Your pocket has been picked. I suggest you check for your wallet.

Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.
