I installed a new Samsung LED TV yesterday and when I entered the encryption key, the connection failed, even though the AppleTV uses the same and my iPhone connected easily. It shows two identical SSIDs- one is the router and the other is a NetGear network over powerline, which is what the AppleTV and my phone used and the signal strength is much higher. I tried the other one and that failed, too.
A couple of questions, since I install fewer Samsung than other brands-
Do these need a firmware update right out of the box and if so, does it work better if the TV is hard-wired?
Have others seen connection issues? What were the causes?
The last time I connected a Samsung TV with WiFi, it was easy enough.
Any Samsung tips and tricks would be appreciated.
