32 or 64 bit OS? Home, Professional, or Ultimate?

When you installed, did you right-click on setup and choose Run As Administrator? Are you running in XP compatibility mode?

Did you research any other threads at all? ;-)

And are you running Windows 7 on 'that laptop'? (couldnt' resist).

I recommend you get the stuff here before you lose the ability to do so.
