I mostly agree with your post - but there is an issues that does crop up - namely that the box will auto-turn off if there is no TV present, or if there has been no remote control activity.

Maybe there is a way to disable the auto-power off, and if so, then, yes, I agree, it really is just a matter of removing the off alias from the master off button macro.
