All great ideas! I am leaning towards putting the modem in bridge mode and installing a real router. I hated this Arris modem from the beginning. It's been an ongoing learning experience. I didn't know it could be put into the bridge mode until reading these posts. Comcast tech support had no clue when I called them last fall. It appears that it all depends on who you answers the phone at tech support.
