I know its years old but,
WD40, followed with w Isopropyl Alcohol and final wipe down screen cleaning fluid, Like it never even happened!
This was some stubborn adhesive on the front of a shiny black computer. Could not get it off. Found this thread in a search and I was done 1 minute latter!
