There is an internal problem at the house and the home owner wants to have proof of the events happening. They don't want a DVR as that will draw attention to the situation. There is no Automation in the house so a shiny DVR or a wall lock box with the DVR inside is going to create questions.

IP will allow for remote viewing without the need of a DVR and most IP cameras have a SD card slot for minimal recording playback.

I have looked at the Axis Camera, however it only ships with an 8 meter connection to go back to the PoE injector. It says you can shorten the cable but nothing about extending it (we are going to the second floor of a house).
