To solve this problem, I merely kept the same silicone pad. I point it out because I wish I had known as it took a couple of disassembles to figure this one out.
And voila, my RC64 is now in a new and shiny case!
Final note for folks stumbling onto this thread for a search.
1) If you have a Yamaha RX-V775 or RX-V475 and a DirecTV remote, in order to program the remote to Power-On your receiver, you should use a RC64 remote (Definitely NOT an RC66), and program the code to 30376.
2) Powering off works fairly well with HDMI control, or you can program AV2 to Power off with most of the standard Yamaha program codes.
3) Volume control works with most of the standard Yamaha program codes.
4) Transplanting the logic board is a fairly easy process, altho not always completely smooth if going from one model to another.
