For years, RCA components have used the RCA IR protocol, which is 56KHz. There have been a few RCA TVs in the last couple of years which use 38KHz, but I think they're pretty rare.
Awesome, you are correct! Now I just need to find a functional DTC-100 laying around. I can't tell you how many of those I have thrown away.
