Do you know who/what company programmed the remote originally?
There are a few locked down versions of CCP that were distributed to many Larger companies (Magnolia, Tweeter, etc.) that can not be uploaded or modified.
I've run into this on MX900's and MX980's (Done by Magnolia/Best Buy); to my knowledge there is no work around as the base file was a contracted series of templates and are the legal property of the corporations.
Having put half a decade in at Magnolia, this is certainly news to me. I guess this is good knowledge to have, in case I ever run into an old piece.
