I didn't hit Ctrl+A because I did not want to select the entire text, only the part that I was highlighting, which was why I highlighted it.

The browser is Firefox and it's always the latest. Those guys sometimes make changes once a week, but I always stay up to date.

And I just discovered a detail -- the scrolling doesn't fail when I write a post and edit it, but instead when I assemble snippets of different posts and edit them together. It happened again a few minutes ago.

As for the analogy, there's only one latest Firefox (24.0 at this moment) but there's an entire line of latest Denons. My error was not pointing out that I had the latest version and further in not putting in the version number so the exact target of this discussion could be pinned down later after Firefox has upgraded some more (updated is a better word; the update might turn it to crap as when Windows 3 "upgraded" to Windows 4....).
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
