When teaching from the Directv remote, for cleaner learns, do the following on the directv remote first:
1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 6 3
4. press CH DOWN
This turns off the an extra signal added to each command by the directv remote.
