Hello! My main (or maybe entire) need in a remote is to learn an IR code, and then to program the remote to send out a continuous signal of that code for about 1 minute when the button is pressed.

From searching the forums, it seems that Pronto software has a "duration" option for IR signals that can be adjusted. But I don't know if other brands do, and I really have no idea where to start in terms of a specific remote.

If it matters, this is for my grandpa's Acorn brand stairlift (the seat that moves up & down the stairs). Right now, he has to stand there holding the remote button for a full minute in order to get the chair in the right place.

Would greatly appreciate any help!
