I currently use a harmony One to control my home theater and it works pretty well. I recently added a GlobalCache GC-100 device to the mix so that I can press a button on the wall and it will send signals out from stick-on IR emitters to turn the home theater on or off.

So where I am running into problems is if I use the wall button/GC100 to turn on my home theater, and then a few minutes later go to control things with the harmony. at that point as far as the harmony knows, the gear is off, so when I press Watch TV on the harmony, it actually ends up turning off the home theater.

similarly, if i turn on the home theater using the harmony and then later use the wall button/GC100 to turn it off, the next time I pick up the harmony, It thinks the gear is on so if i go to activities and then press watch tv, the gear stays off.

I am assuming this is because it is using the toggle button for power on my devices instead of discrete on and off commands.

So is there any better way to do this? I feel like in this case the harmony is trying to be too smart. I would like it to always send the discrete off commands even if it thinks the gear is already off and to send the discrete ON commands even if it thinks the gear is already on. is there any way to accomplish this?
