This was a lesson learned the first time I programmed a touchscreen for myself after doing fifty or so for customers.

If you use the remote enough to get used to it, learning it by touch is wonderful. If you use it for hours every day but have to look at it to see where the buttons are, it's a turd.

If, on the other hand, you use it once a month (boardroom use, for instance) then touchscreens are better because you can put entire explanations on the screen.

I can't tell whether channel and volume are on the correct side because I'm left-handed and have had to adjust for you narrow-minded righties all my life and therefore have unlearned any possible instinct for what is correct. DirecTV remote has volume on the left, gf says she hates it because she's still used to her TWC remote that's the other way around.

Interesting that RTI and ProControl are more or less the same company and have opposite approach to this very basic issue.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
