it means that the website provided the software to you illegally. they don't own the software and are not allowed to distribute it.
the URC website is
www.univeralremote.com and they do not provide software to end users. the only way to legally obtain the software is through the dealer that sold you the remote.
Thanks! Ok, now I get it. The thing is I have bought 3 remotes (2 for my sons) and it never was an option. I asked after I got it programmed and the dealer said he could only give it to me if I paid some sort of licensing fee to him of $199 a year which made no sense to me and it seemed shady. My son said not to so I didn't.
Sorry for asking so many questions, why do dealers not provide the program to customers and how can the website where i got it be open. Cant the police close it?
