Every single Samsung we have integrated so far - any LCD , LED , Plasma ( old or new ) had EX-Link port and did not require accessing hotel menu or any other special " tricks " . However , based on what I have read so far , some european Samsung models require additional hardware , mods etc. . Provided link refers to those models and their implementation of rs232 control - via VGA and/or USB connections . I have not tried it and can't vouch for it , provided info was quoted from RTI dealer forum .
One more thing - one of the earlier posts in this thread has a .pdf attachment with rs232 to 3.5 mm pin-out as well as some rs232 commands . Picture of the cable and the pin-out is correct , however those commands are not . Unfortunately those incorrect codes are used in URC CC 232 data base , not sure if they fixed them yet . Correct drivers can be found in RTI , C4 and Crestron data bases / forums .
