Im new here so if im posting in the wrong place, please let me know.
I have a GC-100 and a GC-IRE. I am trying to control my home theater with this equipment via an app on an android tablet. Im currently stuck trying to get the gc100 to pick up any data. First I started using the GC100 with the GC-IRE in serial 1 with iLearn. No matter what I try, I keep getting "No Device Found". I am able to ping the unit and can surf to its internal web page.
After fighting with this for hours, I gave up and connected the GC-IRE to a USB to serial adapter. This time iLearn was able to find the device and talk to it but it would not pick up any IR data. I do not know if the IR receiver I am using is correct for the IRE, it came from parts express with one of there IR repeaters (the receiver is tested working).
So this is where I am: I am sitting on some expensive equipment that is not working and driving me nuts. My goal is to use my android tablet as a remote control to my home theater. Am I going about this all wrong?
