I was having the same issue with my Harmony One and new Pioneer VSX-1122 AVR. It never occurred to me that the Panasonic TV was the troublemaker.

To reiterate for future readers -- turn off the Viera Link on the Panasonic if you're having an issue with the Pioneer AVR turning itself off during the power sequence for (as an example) "Watch TV".

My setup would turn on the TV, then the DirecTV, then the Pioneer. Everything would start, but then the Pioneer would turn itself off again. "Help" on the remote would turn the Pioneer back on.

After turning off Viera Link (go through the menus in the Panasonic), everything works fine.
