Paul is an honest, friendly guy, that people naturally trust, because of his persona. He's not a salesman, or doesn't come off as one. He says he'll try to save money when he can, and he does, while still doing impeccable finish work. Upsell isn't in his vocabulary, and at this point, it doesn't need to be.

Santa Barbara is a very small market so doing anything underhanded or simply not being a likable guy will kill your career here quickly. I think this is less important in the large markets, because there will always be work trickling in from somewhere but if you work in a small area, you're reputation usually precedes you.
