Run a search for "how do i check firmware". That will find hits discussing how to tell what firmware version you have for sure on the remote. You can also download latest firmware from files area and when you connect your remote to the computer and then run the firmware updater EXE, it will tell you what version you have.
The manual for the RFX can be found in the files area. You use either a cross-connect cable or a straight cable connected to the router. You can then run the 'Extender Discovery Tool' from the PC (requires PEP1, PEP2, or PEP3) and it should find the extender once you flip the switch on back from a '1' to '2' or '3' depending on which type of cable you connected.
In the Extender Discovery Tool, you must click/double-click on the extender located and you should be able to open a web browser window at this time. The firmware version is on the web page you view.
